About This Car

“At the time Audi claimed that the car was inspired by the company’s Le Mans-winning R8 racer, and it only takes one stab of the throttle to realize that there’s a lot of Mulsanne Straight in the RS 6’s DNA.”

The 2003 Audi RS 6 was an independent model that has been created by quattro GmbH and developed in conjunction with AUDI AG. being built jointly at Neckarsulm by the Audi plant and quattro GmbH. The RS 6 was assembled and finished at quattro GmbH’s production facilities, at the rate of no more than a handful of cars each day. This approach assured supreme product quality and has already proved successful in the assembly of the RS 4, of which 6030 were built with only 1,200 examples destined to the US as a 2003 model.

At the time of release the new RS 6 flagship was powered by a bi-turbocharged 4.2-litre V8 petrol engine with 450bhp, and was refined by a new adaptive Dynamic Ride Control system, which works in conjunction with quattro four-wheel-drive to deliver optimum composure and control.

The RS 6 quattro can cover the 0-60mph sprint in just 4.3 seconds, and 124mph can be achieved in an even more impressive 17.6 seconds. Top speed is electronically limited to 155mph but much higher speeds were recorded from owners in “out of the box” state.

Its list of standard equipment is no less exceptional. An Alcantara headlining and either carbon fibre or wood trim complement heated and leather upholstered Recaro sports seats, from which occupants can control a premium quality Bose sound system with CD autochanger and a standard fit satellite navigation system. Racing-style shift controls mounted on the perforated leather sports steering wheel allow the driver rapid access to the five ‘manual’ gears offered by the standard five-speed tiptronic automatic transmission, and parking is simplified by the standard front and rear Acoustic Parking System.

The only high performance saloon in its class to offer the major safety advantage of quattro four-wheel-drive have entered new realms of ride comfort and handling composure thanks to Dynamic Ride Control. The electronically controlled, mechanical damping system monitors road conditions and cornering forces and continually adjusts the suspension characteristics to maintain exceptional balance in all situations, whilst maintaining a supple ride.

This outstanding control extends to braking, which is handled by racing type, 8-piston front ventilated discs and single piston ventilated rear discs, backed by ABS and Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD).

Speedart Motorsports is presenting this unmolested single owner specimen in an all original, original condition the way it left the factory at Neckarsulm. The only addition has been an integrated Valentine 1 radar detector & laser jammer with visual indicators professionally etched on the rear view mirror in a stealth manner.

Maintenance records from new are included in the sale and show recent service including replacement of the MAF and oil cooler in March 2018.

Factory 18″ 9-spoke alloy wheels are currently mounted and wear brand new Continental ContiSportContact 3 tires 255/40 ZR18. For the individualist, a set of model specific 18″ AT Italia wheels with are also included in the sale.

Although the RS 6 came superbly equipped from the factory deserving Audi’s flagship status the following options were offered and are part of this example’s Kardex.

These wuendercars are rare but sourcing one in this impossibly fresh condition proved to us a very daunting task. We welcome a close inspection and demonstration of this iconic Audi from an era that the RS badge was highly coveted and most probably destined to reach unobtainium status in the near future.

The motorcar is accompanied by spare keys, all books and manuals, original window sticker and ample documentation as well as an impeccable CarFax report supporting its unquestionable provenance.
