Our Story
James Hondros
Speedart Motorsports is the brainchild of James Hondros. Starting at a very young age competing on the European circuits as a championship driver, and after a 25-year corporate career in the ultra-luxury automotive retail field in the United States, James decided to pursue his lifelong passion by founding and promoting a company that caters to discerning clients and collectors alike, looking for an extraordinary experience accompanying the acquisition of their next exotica.
James is a recognized authority in vintage and modern sports cars as well as racing motorcycles. Having spent years in buying, selling, restoring and curating some of the rarest automobiles in captivity, he understands the importance of correctly representing these special machines and the pride associated with the ownership of such, for both buyers and sellers.
Price and exclusivity alone is not the only gauge for his love of the automobile, James is equally passionate for a VW Golf GTI Mark One as he is for an Aston DB4 GT Zagato, so he strongly believes that collectible cars and motorbikes should be enjoyed by everyone within each one’s financial realm. His mission is to create a community of highly satisfied members from all walks of life that are able to share their enthusiasm and experiences from the fascinating world of motorsports.
James has a diversified list of favorite cars from different eras but his fondest memory is that of his father’s Lancia Fulvia.
Alex Xakoustis
Speedart Motorsports could not be possible without the help and friendship of Alex Xakoustis. Although Alex is currently the owner of an internationally leading interior design firm, he agreed to partner with James by sharing the same vision, common business approach and everlasting passion about cars and design.
Alex and his company, Italkraft was instrumental on the design and construction of our spectacular showroom by employing the latest technologies, materials and know-how. Alex enjoys cars as much as yachting and watersports, so next time you feel like changing from the Highway terrain to the Intracoastal Waterway ask for him and he will organize a memorable charter on our fully-crewed Riva 72 Splendida.
Alex is quite passionate about modern and vintage Ferraris, driving his F8 Spider at every chance he gets.
Paula Parztelnik
Upon moving from Argentina to the US, Paula started her automotive career in the advertising sector and more specifically with Autotrader. She eventually applied her acquired customer service skills into the retail sales for several years starting with the introduction of MINI under the BMW stewardship.
With enough experience and after completing successfully her F&I training she was promoted into managing the finance and insurance department of the franchise. Looking to expand her automotive horizons into the ultra luxury segment, she was once again promoted to Rolls-Royce & Bentley Motorcars sales becoming one of the top producers within the organization in a short time.
Fast forward, Paula has been with Speedart Motorsports since we opened our doors and she is the master of our operations, responsible for all administrative matters including Finance & Insurance as well as title and registration processing. Her commitment to our customers and ample expertise of the lending industry is invaluable, always helping to execute every transaction to the highest standards.
Paula’s favorite car and weekend driver is a Porsche 944 Turbo.
Benjamin Shipman
Born in New York, Benjamin has been in love with cars since before his first memory. Raised by a father who was a mechanic in Detroit during the 60s and 70s he developed a passion for anything with an engine. Honing his mechanical skills after purchasing his first car for $500, an Audi A4 that was burning so much oil that the exhaust looked like a James Bond smoke screen, it was either learn how to fix cars or don’t drive, and not being able to drive was never an option for him.
He later joined the Navy and scored near perfect on his mechanical aptitude test which allowed him to become one of the Western Pacific Fleet’s top mechanics for the F18 Super Hornets earning a letter of commendation for his efforts in Syria during Operation Inherent Resolve.
For over a decade Benjamin has bought, repaired and sold over a hundred automobiles while looking for more experience and understanding of the different vehicle types and the emotions they evoke. With a previous dealership experience in car retail sales, according to him being involved in the automotive industry on the level of which Speedart Motorsports operates, isn’t work but more so a fulfillment of a young dream.
His role at Speedart is a multifaceted one with an emphasis in sales, customer service and after-sales support. His dedication and genuine commitment to assist our valued clients is apparent from the moment someone first meets him.
Benjamin has an affinity for naturally aspirated youngtimers and classic motorbikes with his favorite car being the BMW M3 – E30.
